Kathryn L. Hammer, PT, CEAS, CI, DN

Owner/Director

Kathryn L. Hammer has owned and operated Hammer Rehab & Fitness since 2002 in the Waukesha Big Bend area. She is a graduate of North Park University and the Mayo Foundation School of Physical Therapy. She is a lifetime member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She worked as a school physical therapist and traveling Physical Therapist before opening her own facility.

She is a licensed WorkSTEPS® Employment Testing provider and Job Site Assessments specialist. Kathy is Certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), WorkSTEPS® Post Offer Testing and is a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist. She is also a Certified Clinical Instructor through the APTA and has assisted in training many local Physical Therapist (PT) and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students.

Her experience and continuing education training have focused on complex neurological, pediatric, orthopedic rehabilitation sports rehab, manual therapy techniques, industrial rehab and she is certified in dry needling.


Karen Ellefson, PT

Karen Ellefson is a graduate of University of Wisconsin/Madison. She is a lifetime member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Karen began her career in Physical Therapy in acute care hospitals, then moved to a rehabilitation facility for a few years. Karen is a skilled Sports Medicine PT who has worked with numerous college, professional and “weekend warrior” athletes. She had her own outpatient physical therapy clinic in Waukesha for many years. She has additional advanced skills such as cranial sacral therapy, myofascial release, strain counterstrain for general orthopedic issues, as well as arthritis. She is also known as the "go to" therapist for Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ) pain combined with Myofascial Pain Dysfunction (MPD) relief. Headaches and neck pain are often interrelated symptoms that are relieved with her treatments.


Amy Flock, PTA

Amy Flock is a graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College. She has over 20 years of experience. Amy has experience in many settings, she began her career in acute care hospitals then moved to outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and pool therapy. She has experience treating a variety of patients including, children through adults with neurologic conditions, such as Parkinson's, dementia, and Traumatic Brain Injury, in long term acute to outpatient settings; she has also worked with subacute geriatric patients. Her experience and continuing education training include muscle energy techniques for SI dysfunction, strain/ counterstrain soft tissue mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, lymphedema/ edema pump points, and Kinesiotaping.

Amy has a certification in WorkSTEPS Employment Testing Protocols for Technicians, and she is also a Certified Clinical Instructor through the APTA and has mentored numerous PTA students.
